Q. What kind of cameras does SwingView Pro use?
A. SwingView Pro can use any DV Camcorder (60 fps) or USB Camera( 30 fps). For the USB camera we currently are recommending the Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000, which retails for around $100. This camera is capable of capturing video at 30 fps at 640x480.

Q. I own a DVcamcorder. Can I use it with the SwingView Pro?
A. Yes. SwingView Pro supports DV Camcorders recording at 60 fps. A firewire port on your computer is required to use the DV Camcorder.

Q. What are the requirements for a notebook computer to run SwingView Pro?
A. Any of the newer notebooks are adequate to run the program.
A CPU speed 1 GHz for single camera system or 2GHz for a dual camera system is
acceptable. The notebook computer needs to have at least one USB port and a parallel
port. The amount of RAM needed depends on the operating system, 128 MB for Window
98, ME and 256 MB for Windows 2000, XP for single camera and double the RAM for
dual camera system. The most important feature to look for in a notebook is the
LCD screen brightness. This is important when using the system outside. If you
do not have A/C power where you will be teaching, a notebook that accommodates
2 batteries may be important. Also if you want to make student CDís, you will
need a CD-RW drive..

Q. What operating systems will SwingView Pro work with?
A. SwingView Pro has been tested and works with Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP.

Q. Can I use 2 cameras with SwingView Pro for a split screen front and back?
A. SwingView Pro supports a dual cameras capturing at the
same time. The cameras may be two USB cameras or two DV camcorders. The system
requirements for the dual camera usage is greater than the one camera. A processor
speed of greater than 1 GZ and 512 MB RAM are recommended for dual USB cameras
and > 2GZ and 512 MB RAM for dual DV camcorders. The recommended Dell notebook
Model 5150 is excellent for dual camera capture.
