Another fine turn out for the 2015 Bird day Shootout. We had 8 members complete the tournament with 2 others that started the tournament but did not finish. It is encouraging to see this amount go up each week. Congrats to SLM for winning the tournament with a handicap score of 33.37. It looks like the top 3 finishers all had established handicaps with the other 5 members are still working on getting that handicap established. Just a reminder that your handicap will be official once you have completed 90 holes. You can review all the handicap info in the forum.
We'll be running 2 tournaments this week as there were requests for multi-round. You will find the 2015 Pacific Classic as a single round (18 Hole) tournament running now through 12/6/2015 11:59 PM EST. This tournament will be played on the Monterey Glass course off the Gold Tees. You will also find the 2015 Recreational Tournament. This tournament is 2 Rounds (18 holes each) and will be played at Blue Bayou Golf and Fishing Club. It will be played off the Blue Tees.
Well the 2015 Akron Open saw a record turnout with 8 golfers completing the tournament. The cold weather is starting to move in and we're starting to see more activity on the site. Hopefully all the new comers are enjoying the new site. It has been interesting as many of the beta testers have been absent from the site. So hopefully we'll see them reappearing soon and driving those numbers up even higher.
Congrats to jpuff_49 on winning the 2015 Akron Open with a final handicap score of 62.49. Thanks to all who participated.
This week will bring the 2015 Bird Day Shootout. Since it is a holiday week and I realize many will be spending the majority of their time with their families, we're going with a Par 3 course for this tournament. That will allow you folks to get through your tournaments quickly and help leave you time for some turkey and family time. It will be another 1 round tournament. We've been running 1 round tournaments so many of you can get through the tournament and post a final score. If you folks want longer tournaments, please post in the forum and we can surely do so if demands are high enough.
From the staff here at P3, we want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving !!!
The 2015 Salute to our Troops tournament concluded and we had 5 players complete the tournament. I guess the weather is starting to turn and indoor golfing is again becoming more of the normal. Congrats to FredL on winning the tournament.
Now that attendance is beginning to tick upward, we'll cut the tournaments to 1 week tournaments more often. The next tournament starts today and will run through 11:59 PM EST on Sunday. It is the 2015 Akron Open. It will be another 18 hole tournament. As usual, the handicap scores are considered to be the final scoring for determining the winner. I hope you all enjoy the tournament. If you do not have the Akron course, it is part of the Studio I package. This is distributed as the 92 Course package. You can find it in our web store listed with the Course Software Options.
Also, if you have not noticed yet - we have released our Black Friday specials. They are on sale now through December 3, 2015.
FredL has done it again as he dominated the Par3 Hills of Clarity course during the 2015 Spooktacular Tournament. He finished at par for Round 1 and -3 in Round 2 (scratch scores). The next closest round was wbond shooting 8 over.
Don't get discouraged folks. FredL already has his 90+ holes in and thus has a handicap established. Many of the newer folks have not completed enough holes to establish a handicap. Once they do, the competition will close that gap quickly and the final results will become closer.
On to the next tournament. The 2015 Salute to the Troops tournament starts today and will run until the day after Veterans Day. Since we're playing a full course (as opposed to a Par 3 Course), I've kept it to a single round tournament so we can get as much participation as possible. I've also left it at about a week and a half for the same reason. Once folks begin golfing indoors more (and participation increases), we will move to 1 week tournaments.
