-- P3Proswing Announces New Projection System Option

Full-size, full-featured virtual golf simulator‚ for less than 1/10th the cost of units found in training centers

January 2, 2005

Ever since indoor golf simulators first came on the market, golfers have dreamed of having their own home system. But the price of these systems ‚ starting at $40,000 ‚ placed them well out of reach of most serious golfers.

Now, golfers can install a full-size home system that actually outperforms the simulators found in training centers, indoor golf facilities and sports bars ‚ for roughly $3,000.
The key to the system is the P3ProSwing Swing Analyzer and Golf Simulator, a dramatic new hardware/software system that connects to Windows-based computers.
P3ProSwing, which retails the base SPORT model for just $599, features a highly sophisticated swing analyzer and a variety of add-on features including a driving range, practice course, competition course and a practice putting green. The system is one of the few on the market at any price that supports putting.

Golfers get beautifully detailed graphical outputs of their swings and virtual games on their computer monitors. But Sports Vision Technologies, the company which created P3ProSwing, has just released a stunning new option: an 8'9" X 10' Hanging Impact Projection Screen.

The new screen, which also doubles as a ball catch net, will allow golfers and teaching pros to connect their computers to an LCD projector and create a full-sized virtual golf experience.

"We tested the projection system at consumer golf shows," said Doug Chamberlain, vice president of Marketing for Sports Vision Technologies. "It’s been a huge hit with consumers. The Impact Screen permits a full size, virtual image, and the system’s graphics are superior to anything else on the market. It’s an amazing experience that actually helps golfers improve their games."

The company recommends using a 1600- to 1800-Lumen LCD projector, which are commonly available for about $1,500. By combining the P3ProSwing system with the new Impact Screen and a projector, home golfers can assemble a complete system for less than $3,000.

To set up a complete indoor driving range and virtual golf course, golfers need a room with dimensions that allow the projector placement 16 feet away from the screen, with sufficient ceiling height to swing a club.

Chamberlain noted that the screen/LCD projector system was compatible with most television systems. "You can use the same equipment to create a big-screen home theater," he said. "That’s a real advantage for families."

The analytical functions of the P3ProSwing are more accurate and outperform the most expensive systems on the market, Chamberlain said. "We have more features than the most expensive systems, at a fraction of the cost."
